Diabetes Education

Internist Associates of Central New York offers health education programs on diabetes, nutrition and osteoporosis prevention and treatment.

Our health education program provides patients and families the knowledge needed to better understand their specific condition and how to effectively manage it. Our program strives to help individuals - especially those newly diagnosed to better understand their specific medical condition.

Our education program is a collaborative effort that involves the patient, their physician, and other healthcare professionals working towards the common goal of a "healthier you".

If you have diabetes, it is important to understand that you can manage it and reduce your risk for complications. Our educational program helps you and your family understand how diabetes effects your body. Our program provides information and education on:

  • Home glucose monitoring
  • Nutrition and exercise
  • Standards of care
  • Treatment and day to day planning
